Team Sports

With 4 indoor sports halls and 3 outdoor pitches, including our NEW 91m x 54m astro sports pitch at Ashbury, we are the perfect place to enjoy a range of team sports. The following sports are available as organised hotel activities during peak periods. During off-peak times the facilities are available for guests to run their own competitions.

5 a-side Football
This can be enjoyed both inside in our sports halls or outside on our all weather pitches if the weather allows. Sessions are ususally split into two groups - Under 13's and Over 13's.

Rounders
A fun game for all the family to enjoy together. Rounders is availale both indoors and outdoors.

Continuous Cricket
Continuous or non-stop cricket is a game involving one batsman, who, on hitting the ball, must run to a marker, square to the wicket. The bowler may bowl as soon as the ball is returned, regardless of whether or not the batsman is still running. Suitable for the whole family to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors. 

 

Uni-hoc
Uni-hoc is an indoor hockey game based on a mix of hockey and ice hockey. Sessions are split into 2 groups - Under 13's and Over 13's.

Basketball
Available in our purpose built basketball hall at the Manor and in the Moorview sports hall. Sessions are split into 2 groups - Under 13's and Over 13's.

Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Sessions are split into 2 groups - Under 13's and Over 13's.

High 5 Netball
All the same rules as standard netball but there are only 5 players on each team rather than 7. Sessions are split into 2 groups - Under 13's and Over 13's.

Dodgeball
An exciting game in which teams of 6 compete to eliminate each other with dodgeballs. Sessions are split into 3 groups: 6-11yrs, 12-16yrs and 17+

Handball
A fast-paced game in which 2 teams of up to 7 players compete to score as many goals as possible. Make your way up the pitch by dribbling, bouncing and passing the ball before taking a shot at the defending team's goal. Sessions are split into 3 groups: 6-11yrs, 12-16yrs and 17+

Water Polo
Game play involves swimming, treading water, players passing the ball while being defended by opponents, and scoring by throwing the ball into a net defended by a goalie. Suitable for the whole family to enjoy together.
